Summer Holidays Sailing Camp

The 2018 school year starts in earnest on the 17th January, end the summer holidays on a high, sailing and having fun with your friends and family at Theewater Sports Club this weekend! The Sailing Academy will be running its last sailing camp of the school holidays between the 13th & 15th January. With summer in full swing, we look forward to a moderate breeze in the mornings from the north east - ideal for sail training, shifting to a south easterly in the afternoons, perfect for fun destination sails to Watermelon Bay!


This holiday sailing camp is open to novice and intermediate Youth sailors. If you have been considering sailing as a sport or hobby for your youngster, there is no better time or place to learn to sail a dinghy.

Theewater Sailing Academy is the only fully accredited World Sailing and South African Sailing sail training academy in the Western Cape. Our qualified coaches will be on hand to provide fun filled instruction in a safe and controlled environment.


What is provided by the Academy

  • Fleet of Topaz Race X dinghies (1 or 2 man) and Hobie 16 catamarans. 
  • Qualified accredited Instructors and fully equipped training room.
  • Accommodation in our rustic waterfront bunkhouse.
  • Great food - Janice (Ma Baker) is catering.
  • Guaranteed FUN both on and off the water.

What you need to bring along on camp

  • Sleeping bag and pillow
  • A few t-shirts, shorts and a warm top
  • Tuck shop money
