TSA fund raising initiativesTheewater Sailing Academy Fund Raising Initatives

Theewater Sailing Academy has a number of ongoing initiatives to improve the facilities and training for our Youth sailors. Many of the items we need for accreditation, are items that people may have lying idle in storage. Youth Club House - Bunk Beds Drive

Youth club house bunk bed fund raising driveIt is our vision to equip the Theewater Sports Club's Youth Clubhouse with twelve wooden bunk beds.  This would allow us to accommodate twenty four youths 'off the floor'.  To date we have received donations for three bunk beds, these have been built and are being used in the TSC Youth Club House.

Bunk Bed Fund Raising Drive

bunk bed fund raising driveThe first order of three bunk beds, at a cost of R1400 per bunk bed, was completed and delivered in May.  Built in kit form, for transportation purposes, by a Gordons Bay carpenter, the bunk beds have been designed with durability in mind.

Thank you to Christo Rust for assistance with the assembly of the bunk beds, here in picture with his two sons Michiel and Christo-Louis, on one of the bunk beds and Jon Galbraith.

Bunk Bed Drive Future Vision

Apart from enanbling us to provide our Youths with a comfortable nights sleep off the concrete floor, when attending our sail training weekends, the Youth Club House would potentially be a revenue stream to Theewater Sports Club.  Many private schools have classes of less that 24, being able to accommodate them while they learn various other skills becomes an attractive proposition.

Where are we at with the Bunk Bed Drive

We have nine bunk beds and now need to replace all the matresses. To donate a matress @ R600 please " Hail Ahoy "

We take this opportunity to thank all our Donors, both large and small.
